HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – WFXR News has learned more about the investigation into a Halifax County man found dead on a Franklin County highway in October.

Documents obtained by WFXR News show Franklin County deputies searched a home on Cove Road earlier this month in search of evidence linked to the murder.

Some of the items seized in the search include cell phones, clothing and what is described as a “cool pad.”

Documents also show deputies took Patrick Davis, who lives at the home, into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Davis is now named as a “possible suspect” in Pannell’s murder.

Davis is the only named suspect at this time.
