Treetop Quest at Explore Park is officially open.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday afternoon as the aerial adventure course was opened to the public for the first time. It is expected to draw about 25,000 visitors per year.
The addition of Treetop Quest to Explore Park has also led to dozens of new jobs. 25 positions have been filled so far, and 10 to 15 more positions are expected to be filled within the year.
“This facility is about bringing jobs to the region. We’ve been able to create several start-ups, private businesses here in the park with the adding of our cabins and camping, and expansion of an existing Roanoke County business with Twin Creeks Brewing Company,” says Doug Blount, director of parks, recreation, and tourism for Roanoke County.
Treetop Quest is expected to stay open ten months out of the year.
