Timothy Church found guilty of 2018 Starlite Motel murder

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A judge Tuesday found Timothy Church guilty of murdering the owner of the Starlite Motel last year.

Church was accused of murdering the motel owner, 60-year-old Ishvarlal Patel, with a baseball bat at Patel’s hotel located in the 4400 block of Melrose Avenue NW.

Following the murder, police found Church near the intersection of Pilot Street and Melrose Avenue, where he was arrested.

In addition to being found guilty of Patel’s murder, Church was also found guilty of one count each of attempted robbery and malicious wounding.
