Three break-ins considered to be connected

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A series of break-in reports are possibly connected, according to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to Greenway Market on Wednesday night shortly after 11. The business had been broken into and the suspected entered through a busted window.

“I was shocked,” said a long-time Greenway employee. “It’s been about a year since we had been robbed. Then I heard there were other robberies the same night.”

Approximately 30 minutes later, deputies were called to another alarm at the Speedy I-81 Exxon in Buchanan where another broken window was found.

Another break-in was reported Thursday morning at Clayton Mobile homes in the Cloverdale area, which is across from the Greenway Market. The office was broken into as well as some of the Mobil homes.

“I’m real surprised for this area, but maybe they sought this area out,” said Greenway customer Jeff Colquhoun.

Authorities believe the incidents involve the same suspect based on the locations of the incidents and surveillance video.

A suspect has not been identified.
