SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. (WFLA) – A Safety Harbor woman says she had a “near-death experience” over the weekend when she found a snake curled up in her dryer.

Amanda Wise says she got up Sunday, made her coffee and then headed out to the garage to fold laundry from her dryer. She was almost done when she made a startling discovery.

“I bent down to grab the rest out and BAM!” she wrote in a Facebook post. Two pictures included in the post show what appears to be a corn snake.

“If there’s one thing I am terrified of (other than flying) it’s snakes,” Wise wrote, adding that she has never run so fast in her life.

Security cameras in her home can verify that – they captured her sprinting into her house from her garage just before 8 a.m. screaming about the snake.

“My heart was racing, my legs were shaking and I burst into a sweat,” she said.

Wise says her husband was able to remove the snake from the dryer and put it outside where it belongs.
