Senators urging Trump Administration to reject $100B tax cut for wealthy

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WFXR) – Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine have joined Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) and nearly 40 fellow colleagues urging Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin against cutting capital gains taxes on the wealthiest Americans by an additional $100 billion over the next decade, defying a long-standing Justice Department policy.

The request follows a letter signed by 21 Republican senators urging the secretary to bypass Congress and index capital gains rates to inflation.
