Sen. Warner to visit Roanoke, southwest Virginia next week


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.) will visit several cities across southwest Virginia next week.

Warner’s office said he will visit Lynchburg, Chatham, and Danville on Monday, August 26. In Lynchburg, he will meet with students and alumni of the Beacon of Hope program at E.C. Glass High School at 11:30 a.m. During the visit, Warner will discuss efforts to make education more affordable and available across the Commonwealth. During his stop in Chatham, Warner will host a round table discussion with local farmers and agribusiness leaders at the Pittsylvania County Community Center at 3 p.m. In Danville, Warner will host a meet and greet with young professionals at Ballad Brewing Company located at 600 Craghead Street beginning at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, August 27, Virginia’s senior senator will visit Martinsville and Roanoke. In Martinsville, he will visit the Martinsville-Henry Chamber of Commerce at 9:45 a.m. to meet with local business leaders about revitalization efforts and the economy. In Roanoke, Warner will tour Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and host a healthcare round table discussion on healthcare protections at 2:15 p.m.

Warner was elected to the Senate in 2008. He is up for re-election to his third term in 2020.
