ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A six mile section of the Blue Ridge Parkway has been indefinitely shut down due to conditions of the surface of the roadway.

Officials say the Parkway is closed from the Stewartsville Road (Route 24) exit to the Blue Ridge Boulevard (Route 221) exit.

For those needing to use a detour around this, take Route 460 west to Gus Nicks Boulevard.
