Roanoke Fire Station renovation put on hold

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A plan to revamp Roanoke’s historic Fire Station #1 is being put on hold in order for developers to obtain all necessary permits and historic approvals.

The plan to sell the property to Old School Partners, LLC was first announced in June of 2018.

Developers asked City Council to extend the current contract to sell the property to as late as next February.

The plan is to partner with Black Dog Salvage to turn the lower level of the firehouse to a general store.

Developers are also looking at partnering with local breweries to open a tap house and turn the second floor into a bed and breakfast.
