Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport sees passenger traffic increase in July


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport has seen another month of passenger traffic increase last month. According to ROA, July traffic was up 5% versus July 2018. A total of 61,627 passengers flew out of ROA compared to 58,646 last July. Year-to-date passenger traffic is up 7.8% (401,705 passengers) thus far, versus a total of 372,503 through this time in 2018.

“We are pleased to see this positive trend continue into 2019, especially given our strong traffic numbers in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Passenger demand is a critical factor when speaking with airlines regarding improving and increasing air service to our region.”

The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission regularly works with airlines to improve reliability, reduce airfare and upgrade equipment that actively serves the region.
