ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke is rolling out a modified process for non-profit organizations requesting funds from the city in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Non-profit art and cultural organizations that plan on requesting funds from the city are required to attend a workshop. The workshop is scheduled for Dec. 6 at 9 a.m. at the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building at 215 Church Ave. S.W. in the EOC Conference room.

For more information about this workshop, contact Arts and Cultural Coordinator Douglas Jackson at (540) 853-5652.

Non-profit human service organizations who plan to submit a funding request with the Human Services Advisory Board are not required to attend a workshop.

Organizations that have requested funds in the past will receive a letter dictating the necessary steps and timeline for reapplying.

New applicants must call Teresa McDaniel in Human/Social Services at (540) 853-2372 as part of the funding request process.

The deadline to submit a funding application through the United Way’s online portal is Thursday, Jan. 30.
