SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — A South Charleston man was charged with assault after he allegedly stabbed his brother with a shovel on Tuesday.

According to the criminal complaint, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a stabbing at 1178 Sand Plant Road on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Upon arrival at the scene,19-year-old Chase Patrick Lily told a deputy that he stabbed his brother with a shovel.

Lily’s brother was taken to the hospital with a laceration on his eyebrow, the complaint states.

Officials say Lily was booked into South Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 cash bail. He is currently facing a malicious or unlawful assault charge.
