UPDATE 3/5/2021 WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — The second suspect in an attempted murder investigation has been arrested Friday morning, according to Washington County Sheriff Blake Andis.
Andis told WFXR’s sister station that Hicks was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Friday at the Budget Inn on Porterfield Highway in Abingdon.
Hicks was the subject of a search after a stabbing incident occurred in Russell County Tuesday night.
Another suspect, Ryan Denton, was taken into custody earlier in the week.
UPDATE 3:25 P.M. WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL)- Authorities in Washington County said one of the two suspects wanted in Wednesday’s manhunt is now in custody.
In an interview Wednesday evening, Washington County Sheriff Blake Andis said a man named Ryan Denton, of Russell County, was in custody.
Authorities said they were still searching for a man named Jacob Hicks, pictured above.
Sheriff Andis said after a stabbing incident in Russell County both Denton and Hicks went to hide at a mobile home in Bristol, Virginia.
Someone alerted authorities they were staying in Bristol, and Sheriff Andis, along with two deputies, were able to catch Denton in the nearby woods.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL)- Washington County Sheriff Blake Andis said his agency is currently searching for two males wanted in an attempted murder investigation.
Sheriff Andis said officials are searching near Wallace Pike for two men last seen wearing blue jeans, and white shirts.

No further description of the suspects was immediately available, but Sheriff Andis said the suspects are considered to be “armed and dangerous.”
The actual crime was reported out of Russell County.
Officials with VSP, and Bristol Virginia PD are assisting in the search.
