RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – Get ready to pay even more at the pump.

Virginia’s gas tax is increasing by five cents to a total of 26.2 cents per gallon.

The increase is due to a change in state law that was passed last year.

Starting next year, the tax rate could increase again. Beginning in 2022, the gas tax will start being adjusted annually, based on inflation rates.
