RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — If you have a cell phone and you live in Virginia, expect an emergency notification to be sent Monday, April 19 at 10 a.m.

The alert is meant as a reminder to everyone that all persons age 16 and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine under Phase 2 guidance.

The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau allows the Commonwealth to use the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) as a COVID-19 communications tool.
