Virginia flags to be flown at half-staff to respect victims of Virginia Beach shooting in 2019

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — Governor Ralph Northam has issued an order for all Commonwealth of Virginia flags to be flown at half-staff in respect and memory of the victims of the May 31, 2019 shooting at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center.

The order includes flags flown over the state Capitol and all local, state, and federal buildings and grounds.

This is in addition to a separate flag order pertaining to Memorial Day on Monday, May 31.

The flags will be lowered at sunrise on Tuesday, June 1m and remain at half-staff until sunset.
