(WFXR) — Virginia will become the 17th state in the U.S. to legalize recreational marijuana, which is a topic that has everyone talking.
U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine even shared his thoughts, saying he’s a sponsor of the federal decriminalization bill and he supports the decision to legalize simple possession of marijuana.
However, the senator says he feels the bill needs development.
“There are details to work out, and I’m sure they’ll figure out and to measure what is being impaired,” Kaine said. “Like we know what it is to be impaired by alcohol when you’re driving, we’re gonna have to figure it out for marijuana because it’s legal and you don’t want to have people impaired, so there’s some details to work out.”
The law will go into effect on July 1.
