Virginia News

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Officials at the University of Virginia (UVA) have announced that all students, faculty and staff will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster shot.

UVA employees, including remote employees, must have received their final vaccination dose by Jan. 4, 2022.

After Jan. 4, employees not in compliance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including unpaid leave or termination.

Students have until Feb. 1, 2022, or 30 days after their first day of eligibility for a booster shot to be fully vaccinated.

If students do not have their vaccines up-to-date, they will not be allowed on campus.

Students and staff each have to upload proof of their booster shot by Feb. 1 to their respective online portal.
