Bill to permit open-carry for alcohol passes unanimously in Virginia Senate

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – A bill that would allow Virginia localities to create outdoor refreshment areas passed unanimously in the Senate on Tuesday.

The bill permits the open-carry of alcoholic drinks in authorized areas to help small businesses, restaurants, and tourism recover from the pandemic.

Localities can designate up to three outdoor refreshment areas are required to create a public safety plan for each area before adopting the ordinance.
