UPDATE 4:46 a.m. (6/15/22): Just a few hours after activating an AMBER Alert for an abducted girl from Fairfax County, Virginia State Police announced that 3-year-old Amelia Marianna Kraus has been safely located.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — An AMBER Alert has been issued on behalf of the Fairfax County Police Department, who is searching for a young girl after she was abducted Tuesday afternoon.

According to Virginia State Police, 3-year-old Amelia Marianna Kraus was abducted shortly before around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14.

Amelia was last seen at Tauxemont Road in Alexandria and is believed to be in extreme danger, authorities say.

Police tell WFXR News that Amelia is 3-feet and 2-inches tall; weighs 34 pounds; has brown hair and blue eyes; and was last seen wearing a pink Boston Red Sox shirt, pink and gray tights, and a pair of white and pink Under Armour shoes.

Officials believe Amelia was abducted by Catherine Agnes Kraus, a 35-year-old woman who is 5-feet and 10-inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has brown eyes and blonde hair. However, she is believed to be wearing a wig after shaving her head.

Virginia State Police tell WFXR News that Catherine is reportedly driving either a white 2019 Subaru sedan with Virginia plate EGLSWGS, or a black 2010 Volkswagen SUV with Massachusetts plate WS5025.
