Kroger launches mandatory mask policy for employees, offers new contactless payment option for customers

(WFXR) – Kroger Mid-Atlantic has announced that all store associates will be required to wear personal protective equipment in the form of masks while working.

The policy began on Saturday, April 25 at all locations.

The masks have been provided by Kroger.

Also this week, Kroger has rolled out a new contactless payment option for customers to utilize during the pandemic.

The program, Kroger Pay will be linked to a customer’s loyalty information account and will eliminate the need for customers to use their credit or debit card.

Instead, a QR code on the customer’s mobile device will be scanned for payment through the plexiglass shield at checkout or at self-checkout registers.

Customers who are interested in using Kroger Pay will need to be sure they have the latest version of the Kroger app downloaded on their phone and search for Kroger Pay in the More Menu option.
