Reckless driver runs from deputies


GILES COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A man is in custody for running away from deputies during a traffic stop.

According to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, Terry Lewis Hungate was reported for driving the wrong way down Route 460 between Rich Creek and Narrows on Wednesday night around 10:30.

A Deputy pulled Hungate over, in Narrows, but Hungate got out of his car and ran toward the New River.

Hungate was later found at a Burger King Thursday morning around 5:45.

He was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Montgomery County for misdemeanor destruction of property and assault.

Hungate is also facing charges in Giles County for reckless driving.
