LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department is commending one of its officers who helped save a woman’s life.

It all happened in early August when Officer Hatch was on the 800 block of Greenfield Drive for a call of service. That’s when a man suddenly came running out of a home nearby calling for help. The man stated that someone wasn’t breathing.

That’s when Officer Hatch put on his cape.

He found the woman unresponsive with no pulse. Immediately, he began performing life-saving measures and started chest compressions.

Officer Hatch successfully got a pulse, and Lynchburg medics took over care.
