BEDFORD COUNTY, VA. (WFXR) — Brook Hill Farm is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that is a safe haven tucked away on 60 acres in Forest.
It’s a life changing place for the people and horses that end up there. According to the their website, “Since the beginning, the farm has rescued, rehabilitated and placed over 500 horses!”
It’s also a place that helps at-risk youth, people with physical and mental diverse needs, veterans and seniors through equine therapy. Brook Hill Farms says their therapy riding program promotes personal growth and education for the community through helping horses that have been abused and people.
“Despite all they do for us, tens of thousands of horses fall victim to abuse and neglect each year. many horses are shipped across our borders to be slaughtered. Rescue organizations are full, and cannot take in all that need help. It is only by working together that we can solve this problem”
