Police searching for two suspects for armed robbery and kidnapping


LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for two men suspected of robbing a store at gunpoint and kidnapping a customer on the way out.

Around 9:15 Saturday night, police were called to the Five Star Mart, in the 2900 block of Memorial Ave.

Two white men, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife walked into the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money, police say.

As they were leaving, the man with the knife abducted a woman from inside the store. Police say the vehicle they left in is possibly stolen.

The first suspect is described as 5’8″ to 5’9″, 220 to 240 pounds, with red hair, a chinstrap beard, and a tattoo on the top of his left hand. He was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved button-down shirt.

The second suspect is described as 5’9″ to 5’10” and 180 pounds with brown hair and a chinstrap beard. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt.

Police have not released a description of the lady that was kidnapped.

The only description of the vehicle is its grey, four-door and has a black front fender on the driver’s side. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
