Police investigating juvenile for allegedly filming sex act and sharing video with other students

News

According to a search warrant obtained by WFXR, Roanoke police are investigating a minor identified only as JS (juvenile suspect) for allegedly filming a sexual act with another minor and then sharing it with other students.

According to the warrant, the victim performed a sexual act on JS which was filmed. It is unclear from the warrant if the victim was aware of the recording or when the video was made.

On December 6th, William Fleming High School administration notified the school resource officer that the video had been airdropped and shared with other students.

According to the warrant, JS admitted to recording the incident and his phone was seized.

Roanoke police confirm that this is an active investigation but say no arrests have been made at this time.

WFXR reached out to a spokesperson for the Roanoke City Public Schools who sent the following statement:

“These allegations were handled appropriately by school administration.  Since it is a police matter, I cannot provide any additional details/comment.”
