Cat shot with arrow is doing much better

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Little John is resting after undergoing surgery to remove the arrow used to shoot him.

Roanoke County Police are continuing to investigate what happened.

Ashley Roberts called Animal Control after finding the cat in the 2500 block of Rutrough Rd.

“I just picked the cat up and the cat was really friendly considering what had just happened to it, and brought it to my house and called the animal control to come get it some help,” said Roberts.

The call came in shortly after noon on Thursday. They say the cat was transported to Angels of Assisi and is recovering from surgery.

“He probably used up one of his 9 lives, but he’s expected to make a good recovery and he got very lucky that it was as superficial as it was,” said Lisa O’Neill, Executive Director of Angels of Assisi.

The cat is believed to be a stray and there is no owner at this time.

Angels of Assisi has created a donation page for the cat. Donations will help with medication and treatment.

Police say there are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Roanoke County Police.
