The next couple of days will be relatively cool with showers likely at times and storms possible. Showers become more possible this evening and then become more likely overnight and Monday.

Our Futurecast shows the potential for showers and storms through Monday. There is a chance of moderate, persistent rainfall that would increase flood risks. This will be cumulative with the rain expected on Tuesday as well.

Monday will be cooler and damp all day.

Tropical storm Idalia has formed between the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba. The storm will head through the eastern Gulf of Mexico where it is expected to be a minimal Category 1 hurricane by the time it makes landfall in Florida on Wednesday. Right now, it looks like the storm will move through Georgia and the Carolinas before sweeping right out over the Outer Banks and Hampton Roads. We may see some showers and ENE wind on Thursday and Friday. Changes in the path and strength are likely as Idalia progresses.
