Owner reports gunshot damage to vehicle, investigation shows damage intentional

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) – On Sunday, September 8, the Emergency Communications Center in Franklin County received a call from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office regarding a vehicle with gunshot damage.

The vehicle was located at Meadowgreen Market in Bassett, Henry County.

The owner of the vehicle, Eric T. Woods of Collinsville, lead Henry County deputies to a location on Fairfield Road in Franklin County. It was there that Franklin County deputies and investigators responded and begin investigating the incident.

Investigators determined that the vehicle damage was intentional and occurred at Deer Trail Drive, not Fairfield Road as Woods had said.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has not released information on potential charges and said it will release more information when it becomes available.
