SALEM, Va. (WFXR) – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking public comments about a study that is currently underway to consider a new multi-use path referred to as the Valley to Valley Trail, connecting the Roanoke Valley to the New River Valley.

This new trail could create a single cohesive trail network by connecting the Roanoke River Greenway, the Huckleberry Trail in Blacksburg and Christiansburg, the Radford Riverway Trail and the New River Trail State Park.

VDOT says the study would help to determine a recommended alignment with sections that could be developed in individual phases.

A recorded presentation on the study — as well as other detailed information and a survey — can be viewed by clicking here.

Comments will be received through Dec. 1 via the online survey or by mailing Michael Gray, VDOT, 731 Harrison Avenue, Salem, VA 24153.
