UPDATE: At 11:39 p.m. Danville Police identified the shooter as 18-year-old Christian Isiah Pinckney.

Pinckney is charged with 2nd-degree murder, Maliciously discharge of a firearm within a public building, use of a Firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.

The victim has been identified as a 26-year-old Danville male, Tyshaun Dawshawn King.

Mr. Pinckney is still at large at this time and should be considered armed and dangerous.

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR)– According to the Danville Police Department, one person has been shot at the Danville Mall at approximately 7:14 PM.

Police say the shooting incident happened at Hibbett Sports.

They say the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim, who was a customer in the store. The suspect then ran on foot from the scene.

The victim has been transported by EMS with life-threatening injuries.

Police say it appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no public safety concern at this time.

Danville PD says they searched store-by-store and released patrons upon completion of the search.
