ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke County Police officer who was charged with lying on his timesheets appeared before a judge Monday.

33-year-old Steven W. McChesney did not enter a plea but was given an October 28. 2019 court date with a special set judge.

According to McChesney’s attorney, all the General District Circuit Judges of the 23rd Judicial Circuit recused themselves from hearing the case, so a special judge had to be appointed.
