Old Dominion University will have a delayed opening Thursday following a report of an anonymous threat.

In an alert sent Thursday morning, the university said police are investigating the reported threat. The campus will now open at 10 a.m.

All classes and activities are canceled, and all offices and buildings will stay closed, until that time.

Students are being asked to stay in their residence halls, while staff are being asked not to report to the campus “until further notice.”

The circumstances surrounding the alleged threat were not immediately clear.

Anyone with information that might help in the investigation is asked to contact the University Police Department at 757-683-4000 or via the LiveSafe app.
