DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville’s Regional Foundation has released a study showing the impacts of a casino in the River City.
The Foundation contracted with a consulting company in Pittsburgh.
The study projects between 500 and 3,000 jobs could be created depending on the size of the casino and could bring between three and nine million dollars in tax revenue for the city.
The report also cited a national study that found eight percent of crime in counties with casinos was linked to gambling and could cause more than two thousand residents to engage in problematic gambling behavior.
