LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Assistant City Manager John Hughes, IV is the newest appointee to serve on the board of the Lynchburg Chapter of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities.
VCIC addresses prejudices in school, business and community settings through workshops, retreats and other informative programs.
Hughes is also a member of the International City/County Management Association, the Civic Engagement Committee of the Virginia Local Government Management Association and the City of Lynchburg’s Community Policing Advisory Group.
“I am honored to have been asked to serve on the board of the Lynchburg Chapter of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities,” said Hughes. “I’ve long admired the organization for their work and consider it a privilege to be a part of an organization that values inclusiveness, integrity, openness, and effectiveness.”
Hughes serves as Lynchburg’s liaison to the Martin Luther King. Jr. Lynchburg Community Council.
