NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Two individuals killed in an Oct. 23 fire in Nelson County have been identified.
Herbert L. Goolsby, 79 and Shirley M. Tinnell, 81 died in the fire in their home located on the 1000 block of Hunting Lodge Road.
According Virginia State Police (VSP), Nelson County Fire and Rescue and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential fire around 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 23.
The bodies of Goolsby and Tinnell were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for examination and an autopsy.
VSP said the fire, which does not appear to be suspicious, is still under investigation.
