Murder charges dropped against Lynchburg teen

Charges have been dropped against the teenager charged in connection to the murder of KeShawn Lamont Dickerson.

He was charged with Second Degree Murder and the Use of a Firearm During the Commission of the Murder.

According to Lynchburg Commonwealth’s Attorney, Bethany Harrison, the charges were dismissed at the mistrial motion to strike in court on Thursday.

She said, “Our civilian witnesses unexpectedly recanted their previous sworn statements about the events of September 16, 2018.”  

According to police, Dickerson was shot in the 2000 block of 3rd Street. He died after he was taken to the hospital.
