Murder charge dropped against homicide suspect as part of plea agreement

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Charges were dropped against a woman accused of killing another in an attempted robbery.

Shamby Walker pleaded guilty to robbery in the second degree on Wednesday in exchange for having all other charges dropped.

Walker was previously charged with conspiracy to commit armed burglary, armed burglary in the second degree, robbery, and murder in the second degree.

Amber Ross was shot and killed inside her home on Overland Drive in May 2018.

Aaron Witcher, a second suspect in the investigation, pleaded guilty to his charges in May 2019. He will serve time for second-degree murder, gun-related charges, and robbery.

Walker’s sentencing date has not been scheduled yet. She could still face a life pled or pleaded

sentence.
