In order to upgrade Montgomery County’s GIS map portal, the county’s staff is asking for feedback on its web-based mapping tool.
According to a release from the Montgomery County Public Information Office, the purpose of the mapping tool is “to provide county GIS data for viewing and use by the public.” The web-based mapping tool allows individuals to identify addresses and sites, while also showing the topography of the county.
The current online mapping tool, iGIS Map Portal, was created in 2013 and is one of the county’s most visited websites.
To provide feedback, visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/MontCo_IGIS. To view the current online mapping tool, visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/departments/planning-gis-intro/gis-and-mapping-services.
The deadline to provide input is August 10, 2019.
The new, enhanced mapping tool will be available to the public in the fall of 2019.
