Martinsville man arrested after bomb threat at Hanes Brands facility

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — A Martinsville man is facing charges after police say he left a threatening message at a local business.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, a message was found inside the Hanes Brands facility at 380 Beaver Creek Drive in Martinsville Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 5:33 p.m. that said an explosive was in the building.

After a search of the building by a bomb-sniffing dog, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office found nothing.

Authorities charged Alvin Donnel, 22, of Martinsville, with one felony count of threat to bomb. He is out of jail on a $3,500 bond, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office said.
