Man hospitalized after near-drowning at Henry County hotel

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A New York man is in a Roanoke hospital after a near-drowning at a Henry County hotel on Monday night.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, an unresponsive 24-year-old man was pulled from the pool at the Dutch Inn/Quality Inn located in Collinsville at around 7:18 p.m. The man, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., received life-saving measures from individuals on the scene before rescue crews arrived. He was taken to Sovah Health Martinsville before later being airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, authorities said.
