Man cited for packing loaded gun in carry-on bag

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Transportation Security Administration found a loaded gun at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport on Monday.

A TSA officer saw the .32 caliber handgun on an X-ray monitor inside a Lexington man’s carry-on bag.

Airport police were notified of the finding, and confiscated the gun before citing the man on a weapons charge.

Officials say this is the second gun found at the airport this year.

In 2018, six guns were found at the airport checkpoint.
