Man arrested after Martinsville stabbing

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — A man is recovering after being stabbed at an apartment in Martinsville last week.

According to Martinsville Police, the incident happened Oct. 11 at an apartment located at 940 Myrtle Road. When police arrived, they found Anthony Crawford, 43, bleeding from his chest. He was taken to SOVAH Hospital before being transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Police arrested Crawford’s neighbor, Tyrone Cox, following an investigation, which police say uncovered stolen property belonging to Crawford in Cox’s apartment.

Cox has been charged with felony malicious wounding. Police are also pursuing additional charges of burglary and grand larceny.
