Man airlifted to hospital after Pittsylvania County shooting

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — An overnight shooting in Pittsylvania County resulted in one man being airlifted to a local hospital.

According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Lawless Creek Road in the Blairs community. When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found a man outside with a gunshot wound. A mobile home also had bullet holes, but no one was injured in the home. The Sheriff’s Department said suspects fled the scene.

The male shooting victim was airlifted to Carillion in Roanoke. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
