RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – A review of recommendations by the Commonwealth shows that Virginia has implemented a majority of the proposals suggested.
Governor Ralph Northam launched a review into the proposal adoptions after a special legislative session on gun violence was shut down by Republicans.
The review found that 74 of the proposals are now either fully or partially in place.
Three recommendations were not implemented including having universal background checks.
The Virginia Tech panel was set up by then-Governor Tim Kaine three days after Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 students and himself.
The panel mostly focused on mental health and not gun control.
