Update: Lynchburg Police arrest person in connection to Facebook scam

Lynchburg Police are searching for a person suspected of selling a scam.

UPDATE: 5:05 P.M — Lynchburg Police have now in custody Tykiem Hurt, who was wanted for robbery and grand larceny in connection to a Facebook scam.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Lynchburg Police are searching for a person suspected of robbery and grand larceny.

According to police, Tykiem Hurt is wanted in connection to the “sale of used phones set up via Facebook.”

Anyone with information about this ongoing investigation, contact Detective Dubie at (434) 455-6102.

Police encourage the public to only do business with verified businesses or trusted individuals. When meeting a person who you are not familiar with choose a well-lit public space, and never meet them alone.
