Lynchburg Police investigating armed robberies at Mr. Food and Z Mart

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday night.

At around 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, officers responded to the 1400 block of Park Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect brandished a knife but did not obtain any money. He then fled the scene.

Then at 10:42 p.m., officers received a call to the 1600-block of 12th Street for another armed robbery. The same suspect once again threatened the cashier with a knife. He did manage to steal money from this location, before fleeing again on foot.

The suspect is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing black pants, a black Nike hat, black shoes, and a blue and yellow sweatshirt with a white stripe and the letters “PRSH” across the middle of his shirt.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Lynchburg Police at (434) 455-6178.
