BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The National D-Day Memorial will be hosting D-Day veteran Hilman Prestridge who will be talking about his military service Thursday, September 19 at 12 p.m.
Prestridge is an Army Private First Class veteran who fought with the 1st Army and came ashore with the first wave of troops at Omaha Beach. He fought at Normandy and Saint Lô.
He also received a Presidential Citation, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon and Service Unit Badge for his service.
Prestridge’s talk is part of the Lunchbox Lecture Series at The National D-Day Memorial.
It is free and open to the public. Donations would be appreciated.
Guests are welcome to bring lunch to enjoy during the program. Admission to the D-Day Memorial site will be free between 11 a.m. through 12:15 p.m. on September 19 to accommodate those wanting to attend the lecture.
