These are very competitive scholarships. They are open to all high schools in our service region, all students who are seniors and graduating. We have a very competitive application process. It’s very detailed. We do an essay component, students have to provide recommendation letters.Letitia Pulliam, Institutional Advancement and Foundation Office for the college
As Pulliam mentions, the scholarship is competitive. She says the committee formed by the board of directors bases their decisions on academics, the rigor of courses, extracurricular involvement, leadership, and after school employment.
Montana Moorefield, a current PH Scholar says that the application process took time and effort but receiving her acceptance letter made it worth it.
