Women in Roanoke join in for a “Day without a woman” strike

Local News

Women in Roanoke joined those around the nation in the “Day without a Woman” strike.

At the Aurora Studio Center, women could get a massage, enjoy food, and learn how to get involved in the community.

Women were asked to wear red as a sign of solidarity and spend money at all women owned businesses.

Organizers of the event say seeing all the women who came out to the event really inspires them to do more with the movement.

“When I see women together, I do feel empowered and I feel like we can accomplish anything that we set our minds too,” said Beth Deel, Director of Aurora Studio Center.

Women were asked to bring donations for the Women’s & Children’s Center.
